I’d seen The Guest List by Lucy Foley everywhere for a while. Holds were backed up on Libby forever. Then a friend got it for me for Christmas and I devoured it in a couple of days.
What I loved most about this book were the characters and the setting. It takes place on an island off the coast of Ireland that has a creepy vibe to it that I could picture thanks to the author’s great descriptions. The story is told from four different perspectives, which were all great characters.
Unlike other whodunnit stories, the crime doesn’t happen right away. You know something is going to happen, but you don’t know when, or to whom. I couldn’t turn the pages quickly enough because I just had to know what was happening.
I see now why this book was everywhere for a while. If you enjoy a good whodunnit on a creepy remote island, pick this one up.
